Distance travelled (by bike): 4385 miles
Today was a blessing, no drama, no problems. Heading from Salta north to the Bolivian border we started to climb through the colourful and progressively cold mountains, pass through World Heritage Sites and battle the rain. Passing the Tropic of Capricorn we drove up into the mountains, a peaceful and sedate drive until shane fell asleep behind me and slumped to one side causing the bike to swerve violently across the road. Crisis averted we stopped for much needed caffeine at the Abra Pampa, which we discovered upon arrival was a glorified truck stop sitting 4000m above sea level. Charge up we battled on to La Quiaca, on arrival we decided to leave the border crossing into Bolivia for the morning.
